WTLS-IP-SEC

WTLS was developed for mobile communication and can be incorporated as an optional layer in the WAP stack. It sits below the Wireless Transaction Protocol (WTP), which corresponds approximately to Layer 4-6 of the OSI stack. WTP can be used both via connectionless and connection-oriented services, with the latter services assuming the task of transport security. If WTLS is used via connectionless datagram services (either via WDP in a traditional WAP stack or via UDP as used increasingly in the WAP environment), WTLS can be used for communication security. In this case there are certain restrictions with regard to the WTLS handshake. WTLS is tailored to applications with a lower bandwidth, lower computing performance and higher response times. To this end several adjustments have been made compared with TLS.

IPsec (Internet Protocol security) was developed to eliminate the weakness of the internet protocol (IP). IPsec allocates a security architecture for the communication over IP-computer networks.
