UPAC

UPAC is Ascom’s new professional messaging and personal alarm solution for small to medium sized businesses. It enables sending messages directly from web browsers or it can automatically generate messages triggered by events such as an elevator stoppage or a broken fan. It distributes the messages to DECT or WiFi handsets, to pagers or to GSM telephones via SMS. UPAC is easier to install and configue than comparable alternatives and has an intuitive interface. It is based on a solid state server running the Linux operating system and ideal for all types of messaging/alarm needs for up to 100 users.

The application ensures that messages will always reach their target. For example if a lone worker presses the alarm button the system will pinpoint the location and notify a responsible person to assist. If they are unavailable or can not answer, the alarm is directed to the next person/team or sent to a GSM mobile.

Furthermore, Ascom’s UPAC can be used to supervise equipment and log events. Many industries have high quality assurance goals and need to track processes during incidents. Analysing logged data can help to improve future efficiency and proof of service.

Using UPAC existing communication systems can be enhanced with wireless messaging leading to a quicker and more efficient handling of critical events and shorter response times.
